Data Ownership and Control
Student data privacy is foundational to how GoTeacher is built and operated. Our systems are designed so districts can gain visibility and oversight without introducing new risk into their environment.
No Third-Party Data Processing
GoTeacher builds and maintains its own analytics and risk assessment technologies. We do not rely on third-party tools to inspect, enrich, or analyze district data.
This is a deliberate design choice. Limiting external dependencies reduces exposure, simplifies compliance, and ensures districts always know where their data lives and how it is handled.
Subprocessors and Infrastructure
Our list of subprocessors is intentionally small and tightly scoped.
It currently includes:
- Amazon Web Services
- Google Cloud
These services are used exclusively for secure infrastructure and hosting. District data is not shared with additional analytics, monitoring, or enrichment services.
Internal Access Controls
We apply the same standards internally that we encourage districts to adopt.
Access to GoTeacher systems and tools is tightly controlled, regularly reviewed, and limited to what is necessary for each role. We use GoTeacher internally to manage tool access and permissions, reinforcing visibility and accountability across our own operations.
Data Privacy Agreements
GoTeacher has a data privacy agreement available through the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC). Any district may sign this agreement as part of their review or approval process.
For districts that require custom language or additional assurances, we are happy to provide a district-specific data privacy agreement. Requests can be sent to support@goteacher.com.
Security Practices
Our security and data protection practices align with established best practices, including the CIS framework. These standards guide how we approach access control, data handling, and system security across the platform.
Why This Matters
The goal of these practices is straightforward: help districts close compliance gaps and improve oversight without creating new exposure.
GoTeacher is built to support responsible governance of AI and edtech, not to introduce additional risk into district environments.
